MCLEAN COUNTY (HOI) - Severe thunderstorms dumped as much 6.5 inches of rain in parts of McLean County Friday night, flooding roads throughout Bloomington-Normal and stranding vehicles in many places.
Doppler radar estimates show anywhere from 4.3 to 6.5 inches of rainfall in parts of the county.
Flash flood warnings were issued. A Heart of Illinois-ABC crew saw a truck towing vehicles stuck in flood water near the intersection of East Oakland Avenue and Veterans Parkway.
Flooding was seen on Fairway Drive near Eastland Mall.

Cars were turning round to avoid flooded roadways in Downtown Bloomington.
Just south of downtown near the Bloomington Police Department and Bloomington City Hall, some city-owned trucks were stuck in water that had risen to just above their wheels.
South Main Street, near Downtown, was closed after vehicles were caught up in flood waters.
Our reporters said water had receded on South Main Street, near Veterans Parkway, when they arrived, and vehicles that were stranded there were swept into a roadway embankment.
Viewers sent us pictures of other flooded areas, including West Washington Street.
This was the scene at Monical's Pizza on South Main Street in Normal, near Sugar Creek.
The Normal Fire Department turned to social media Friday night urging motorists to stay off the roads.
"If the road is flooded, turn around," the fire department said.
