Father’s Day is a time to show appreciation to the men who helped raise us all and the Cleveland Browns have several players who deserve respect on this day
June 20, 2021 is Father’s Day which is a time to say thank you to the men who helped raised us. On this day, fathers usually get to tell their bad jokes and might even get a few pity laughs — if only for the day.
We also might hear that our dad bods aren’t that bad — again, it might only be for that one day.
But what about the dads on the Cleveland Browns? Sure, they don’t have dad bods, but there are plenty of great parents who work in Berea, and here we look at three fathers on the Browns roster who deserve our respect on Father’s Day.
3. Ryan Switzer, Wide Receiver
The first Cleveland Browns dad we look at has yet to take a snap with the team but he deserves credit for being a great dad — who went through a very rough patch this offseason.
A fourth-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2017, Ryan Switzer spent time with the Raiders and Steelers before joining the Browns in 2020. He suffered an injury not long after signing and then spent the majority of the season on the practice squad.
Now back and trying to make it as a receiver and return man, Switzer dealt with a scary situation this offseason as his son Christian, who was nine months old at the time, had to undergo surgery to stop some excessive bleeding.
Christian was in and out of the hospital often during the offseason and the struggle for a while was finding the source of the bleeding. Thankfully, they found a specialist in Boston who was able to help the young family end their nightmare.
Throughout the entire ordeal, Ryan and his wife, Gabie, remained as positive as possible. They reached out to fans for support and prayers and then were able to share their praise report at the end of it all.
Switzer has a tough road to the 53-man roster but he deserves a huge nod for being a strong father during a time of crisis.
