North Texas had a wet end to its Memorial Day weekend as thunderstorms brought a deluge of rain to the region.
Multiple flash-flood warnings were issued in Dallas and Tarrant counties Monday afternoon and evening as a line of storms brought heavy rainfall to the area, flooding roads and areas with poor drainage.
About 1.7 inches of rain had been recorded at DFW International Airport by 10 p.m., bringing the total for May to about 7.8 inches — slightly above average for the month.
Rain chances remain high late this evening but will taper off after midnight. Heavy rainfall is the main threat with continued flash flooding in some areas. #txwx pic.twitter.com/KsUPQZQLhK
