Heads up! Not only have rain chances gone up significantly for Friday, there's now a risk of street flooding over the southern half of the state. That includes us in southeast Texas. pic.twitter.com/5z0yrHoVdD

And that threat for heavy rain may last into the weekend as well.

When is our next best opportunity for rain?
Scattered showers and storms will be possible Thursday, but we aren't expecting widespread rain until Friday. Also on Friday, we could be talking periods of heavy rain which could lead to isolated street flooding. The chance you'll catch a heavy downpour on Friday is now 80%.
How much rain could I get?
Over the next five days, 1-3" will be common with isolated areas seeing over 3" of rain.
How does the weekend look?
A storm system we have been monitoring looks like it will hang out to the west of us continuing chances of rain into the weekend. Rain will be isolated on Saturday but will be a bit more widespread on Sunday (60%). That storm system should move out by Sunday night giving us a break from rain chances next Monday.
