A warm weekend is ahead in Denver, but first thunderstorms and mountain snow with some reaching down into the metro area.
Denver will hit 57 degrees just after noon before storms will roll through the area, according to the National Weather Service. Winds could gust up to 25 mph as some storms become severe with chances of hail. The highest chance for severe storms will be along the Palmer Divide north to Interstate 76 and east of Interstate 25. Rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over much of northeast Colorado. Locally, up to 3 inches of rain will be possible and may result in puddles.

Snow will form over the mountains and foothills, where the snow level will start between 8,000 to 8,500 feet. The snow will fall in the afternoon and evening. By Wednesday morning, the snow level will be close to 6,000 feet. The heaviest snow is expected to fall above 7,500 feet with up to 14 inches of snow accumulation with nearly 2 feet being possible locally.
Denver will drop to 37 degrees overnight and could see up to 3 inches of snow by sunrise on Wednesday.
A cold front will surge south on Tuesday, bringing snow above 8000 feet, and rain to the rest of the area. Heavy snow is expected above 9000 feet along the Front Range Mountains. Scattered thunderstorms, some possibly strong, will streak across the area as well. #cowx pic.twitter.com/U0l80VZWru

In Denver, the precipitation will continue into Wednesday, slowing after lunchtime when the high will push 55 degrees with a low of 38.
Thursday, it is back to 65 degrees and sunny.
Friday through the entire weekend will hang around 80 degrees with sun. The next storm system could bring snow to the mountains on Sunday night.
