5-Day Nationwide Forecast
A cyclonic circulation lies over southwest Bay of Bengal off south Sri Lanka coast at lower tropospheric levels, while strong northeasterly winds prevail over Tamil Nadu coast and south Coastal Andhra Pradesh at lower levels.
Under their combined influence, light to moderate scattered/fairly widespread rainfall is likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during the next five days.
Further, isolated heavy to very heavy rains may lash Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal from November 26 to 29, with isolated extremely heavy falls likely on November 26
Further, isolated heavy showers have been forecast across Kerala, south Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema from November 26-29, and the latter three subdivisions may also witness isolated very heavy falls on November 28-29.
Squally winds (speed reaching 40-50 kmph, gusting to 60 kmph) will prevail over Southwest Bay of Bengal, Comorin area, and Gulf of Mannar, along and off south the Tamil Nadu coast on November 26. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into these areas.
Lastly, a low-pressure area is likely to form over south Andaman Sea around November 29. It is likely to become more marked and move west-northwestwards during the subsequent 48 hours. Under its influence, isolated heavy rainfall is possible over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on November 29-30.
Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh may see isolated rain/snow Friday to Saturday, though.
As for the mercury levels, the maximum temperatures will be cooler than normal across northeastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar on Friday. From Sunday, Andhra Pradesh will experience a bit cooler-than-normal maximums. On the other hand, overnight minimums will be average or warmer than normal across the country.

- Widespread rain with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorms are likely over Tamil Nadu. Fairly widespread rains and thunderstorms have been forecast over Kerala.
- Scattered rains and thunderstorms are on the cards over Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
- Isolated rains and thunderstorms are possible over Ladakh, Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Snow may mix in at Ladakh, Sikkim and northern Arunachal Pradesh.
Saturday
- Widespread rains and thunderstorms are likely over Tamil Nadu. Coastal Tamil Nadu and coastal Andhra Pradesh will see isolated heavy falls.
- Fairly widespread rains and thunderstorms are expected over Kerala, while scattered rains and thunderstorms may lash Lakshadweep.
- Isolated rains and thunderstorms are possible over Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Snow may mix in at Ladakh and northern Arunachal Pradesh.
