SÃO PAULO--Brazil recorded a current-account deficit of $4.5 billion in October from a deficit of $1.7 billion in September, the country's central bank said Thursday.
The 12-month current-account deficit reached $26.7 billion in October from a revised $23.4 billion the month before, the bank said.
The 12-month current-account deficit was equal to 1.66% of gross domestic product versus a revised 1.47% of GDP reported for the previous month.
Net foreign direct investment reached $2.5 billion in October from $4.5 billion in September, the bank said. FDI reached $49.2 billion for the 12 months through October compared with $50.4 billion in the 12 months through September.
