New Jersey will experience scattered bouts of heavy rain this evening, as meteorologists track Ida’s path toward New Jersey.
News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Michele Powers says that parts of the state will see spot rain showers and storms popping up. These storms are expected to produce localized heavy rain and gusty winds. Some localized road flooding is possible.
Ida’s remnants are expected to arrive in New Jersey by Wednesday. There is the danger for heavy rain and flash flooding. A flash flood watch is in effect until Thursday afternoon.
There is the potential for up to 6 inches of rain in parts of the state.
Steady rain will continue into Thursday and is expected to end by the nighttime hours.
