TARZANA — A destructive, ‘heavy fire’ gutted the metal-clad Crazy Falafal restaurant in Tarzana on Thursday, but no one was hurt.
Firefighters sent to 19336 Ventura Blvd. at 10:49 a.m. extinguished the flames in the single-story building in 39 minutes, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
“Firefighters engaged heavy fire inside a 20-by-20-foot metal-clad restaurant, plus additional covered patio seating area, which included flames inside the metal-covered walls and attic,” said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
