CHICO — The North Valley Community Foundation announced the launch of the organization’s 2021 scholarship application period Thursday.
The nonprofit’s 11 programs will take applications through April 15.
The majority of scholarships are for graduating seniors who will be attending college in the fall, but there are some for current college students. Potential applicants can learn more about each program at https://ift.tt/3t3YNKK. Applications may be submitted directly through NVCF’s website.
“NVCF has a long tradition of offering a variety of scholarships to our community,” Logan Todd, NVCF vice president for grant programs and client services, said. “We are proud to offer the option for our donors to invest directly in the next generation by creating scholarships to help young people pursue their passions.”
Some current programs include awards to help those with a close family member with a breast cancer diagnosis or those pursuing a career in journalism or student athletes, among other conditions.
Scholarships currently open for applications include Bridging the Gap for Breast Cancer Scholarship Program, Butte County Sustainable Communities Scholarship, Cindy Kennedy Memorial Scholarship, Jerry Novotny Journalism Scholarship, Molly Sacksteder Memorial Scholarship, Mo-Train Spirit Award, The George and Alice Smith Scholarship, The Lydia Schulerud Scholarship, The Women’s Improvement Club of Paradise Scholarship, Thomas Sprys Scholarship and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 582.
