EAST MOLINE, Ill. (KWQC) - The East Moline Fire Department were on the scene of a house fire in the 200 block of 29th Avenue. Heavy smoke and flames could be seen coming out of the second floor and backside of the house.
Fire officials say two residents were in the home at the time of the fire, were able to call for help, and exited safely. No injuries were reported.
Traffic was temporarily blocked on part of 29th Street as emergency crews respond. A TV6 crew on seen says the Silvis and Rock Island Arsenal Fire Departments are assisting.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, although fire officials say they believe it was likely accidental.
Crews were at the scene for approximately two and a half hours.
