More than 250 homes and businesses are in the dark in West Lincoln, due to the band of severe weather moving through.

As of 4:30 p.m. Monday, 258 customers of Magnolia Electric Power (1.33 percent of MEP’s total customers in the county) had reported outages. No customers of Entergy, Southern Pine Electric, or Southwest Mississippi EPA were without power at that time.

Since 3 p.m., power had been restored to 120 additional customers in the area. MEP had no estimated time for power restoration for the additional meters.

Lincoln County is one of two dozen Mississippi counties at least partially under an elevated threat of flash flooding Monday afternoon, with the threat continuing through Wednesday. Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall are possible, according to the National Weather Service in Jackson. Three to six inches of rain are expected and flash flooding is likely.

A marginal risk of severe storms also existed for the county from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, as well as some possible damaging wind gusts.
