Chadwick BaRoss Inc., a Westbook-based construction equipment dealer, said on Friday it completed the acquisition of J.F. McDermott Corp., a Massachusetts-based distributor of equipment for the water and waste water industries.
The deal marks the latest acquisition for Chadwick BaRoss, following the purchase of Kaz Equipment of South Windsor, Connecticut in March.
Chadwick BaRoss, founded more than 90 years ago, said all of J.F. McDermott’s employees would join the company under the leadership of President Jim Maxwell. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
J.F. McDermott, founded in 1942 in Whitman, Mass., will be Chadwick BaRoss’ ninth location. The company also has a presence elsewhere in Massachusetts and in Maine, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.
“McDermott’s business and expertise, as well as their long tradition of excellence in customer service, will be an outstanding complement to CBR’s existing operations and growth strategy as a leader in heavy equipment sales, leasing, renting and servicing in the New England market,” Maxwell said in a statement.
Chadwick BaRoss serves the construction, forestry, recycling and municipal industries. It is owned by Toronto-based private investment company, ISH Capital Inc.
