Heavy fog could make Saturday morning driving dangerous, forecasters say - PennLive

Heavy fog that descended upon the midstate Saturday morning has dropped visibility on some roads to just several hundred feet, forecasters said.

The National Weather Service is urging drivers to use extra caution Saturday morning because of the fog, which is expected to lift around 9 or 10 a.m.

“To ensure safe braking distance, slow down and allow plenty of room between you and the vehicle ahead, the NWS said in a Saturday special weather statement. “Use the low beams of your headlights to ensure the best visibility possible.”

Nighttime clear skies, light wind and moist grounds from the recent heavy rain caused the fog, forecasters said.

The rest of Saturday will be sunny, with highs in the mid 70s, forecasters said. The trend of 70-degree weather will continue through most of next week; however, highs could drop into the upper 60s over the second half of next week.

Today
