Heavy rains Wednesday morning inundated area roads as emergency crews scrambled to at least two water rescues.
One of those areas was North Third Street just south of the intersection with John Rowan Boulevard, where occupants in at least three vehicles needed rescue.
As of 10 a.m. Wednesday, all the people on North Third were rescued but the road remained closed.
There was at least one other water rescue called for the Blomfield area, but details were not immediately available.
Other areas in the area have standing water in the roadways and emergency officials urged caution. Motorists should not attempt to ford flooded roadways.
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning until 12:45 p.m.
