Here's our latest weather outlook for India
5-Day Nationwide Forecast
A depression located over east Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday will move northwestward slowly towards east Rajasthan by Friday and stall in Rajasthan through the weekend. This depression will produce heavy to locally extremely heavy rains across Central India between Wednesday and Thursday. The total rainfall will amount to 50-100 mm as a whole and 150 mm locally.
A cyclonic circulation lingering off the coast of Gujarat will produce heavy to locally extremely heavy showers across Gujarat on Wednesday. This cyclonic circulation, combined with the depression that will move over Rajasthan, will bring heavy rains across Gujarat and east Rajasthan on Saturday. Total rainfall of 50-100 mm in the combined regions and 150 mm in localized areas is expected. Accordingly, IMD has issued an orange alert over Gujarat for today.
Meanwhile, a fresh cyclonic circulation will develop over the north Bay of Bengal on Friday. This cyclonic circulation will produce wet southerly flows, and as a result, Northeast India will receive heavy rains of 50-100 mm during the weekend. Heavy rains are also expected across Odisha Saturday onward as the cyclonic circulation moves westward.
As for the mercury levels, the maximum and minimum temperatures will remain well above normal across the West Himalayan Regions and Northeast India during this projection period. The Western portions of Central and North India will experience much cooler than normal highs under the depression.
