Workers may be itching to leave their current jobs once Covid-19 has fully passed. Only 30% of US adults plan to stay in their current jobs post-pandemic, according to a survey released today by staffing provider Yoh.

“Work environments and the needs of employees have drastically evolved during the Covid-19 pandemic and the findings from this survey underscore the need for employers to reevaluate their practices in order to retain talent,” Yoh President Emmett McGrath said.

There were differences by level of education. Yoh’s survey found that 40% US adults with a college degree or higher are likely to stay in their current roles post-pandemic compared to 21% of those with high school degrees or less.

In addition, it found that 40% of those with annual household incomes of $100,000 or more are likely to stay in their current jobs after the pandemic. Only 26% of those in households with less than $100,000 in annual income were likely to stay.

Other findings:

  • 34% of males are likely to stay in their jobs post-pandemic compared to 27% of females.
  • Those aged 18 to 34 are more likely to search for a new job, 22%, than those ages 35 and older, 8%.

The survey took place May 5 to May 7 and included 2,064 US adults.
