NFL players show support for Alex Smith in improbable return originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
Washington Football Team quarterback Alex Smith made his improbable return to NFL action on Sunday, an epic feat after suffering a near life-threatening leg injury less than two years ago.
Smith took over for an injured Kyle Allen late in the second quarter. The 36-year-old has remained Washington's quarterback, despite Allen being cleared to return.
Smith's incredible comeback caught the attention of several current and former NFL players, who took to social media to show their support for the Washington passer.
