JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – These are apart of the bands of downpours that extend from Tropical Storm Sally. The northern branch of these storms (in Georgia) produced gusty winds and a possible tornado over the Okefenokee Swamp around 6:15 pm. That storm has since moved towards Waycross, Georgia to Nahunta, Georgia.
In Jacksonville, BRIEFLY heavy downpours and gusty winds are expected through 9 p.m.
This will be a “one and done” weather event, with the possibility of another spin up tornado or two as these move through.

Bands of downpours are slowly making their way northeastward across our area from Sally. Expect passing downpours overnight. Otherwise we will see mostly cloudy skies and temperatures sinking down into the low 70s.
Thursday we wake up to passing showers along I-75, that slowly work their way eastward across our area, with passing downpours likely by 2pm along I-95. The showers stick around for our southern and eastern counties into the overnight hours. Expect breezy southerly winds between 10-15 mph. Temperatures will make it into the upper 80s and low 90s for a high.
Friday will be mostly cloudy, warm, and damp. Expect a widespread round of afternoon downpours and highs in the upper 80s and low 90s. Winds will be out of the southwest around 10 mph.
This weekend we expect a Nor’Easter to develop, with breezy northeasterly winds, cooler temperatures, coastal showers, flooding during high tide, and mostly cloudy skies. The further you are from the coastline, the weaker these elements will be in your forecast.
Saturday starts out cooler, around 70° and only warms into the low 80s. Winds will be out of the north around 15 mph, pushing occasional coastal showers onshore.
Sunday will be breezier, with winds out of the northeast closer to 20 mph. Temperatures start out in the mid 60s for the first time since late Spring and only warm up into the upper 70s.
Monday will still be windy, but the coastal showers will be a bit more isolated. Expect northeasterly winds around 20 mph with gusts around 30 mph. Temperatures will be lovely, starting out in the mid 60s and only warming into the upper 70s.
Tuesday we still see 15 mph northeasterly winds and temperatures starting in the mid 60s and warming up to around 80°.
Drier, still kinda cool weather sticks around on Wednesday.
