A sudden hail storm that swept across the tri-state area Saturday afternoon has left thousands without power.
Monmouth County was under a wind advisory earlier Saturday. In Red Bank, a downed pole and wires shut down shutting Balloch Place - essentially blocking residents from being able to come or go.
The National Weather Service also issued a thunderstorm warning for several counties. In Ocean County, News 12 is told strong winds toppled over an 8-foot-long sailboat and that resulted in a water rescue.
Residents who live on Balloch Place near Hendrickson Avnuee are blocked in until JCP&L crews come and clean the mess up.
The pole went down some time around 6 p.m. News 12 is told the wires are still live, but in this area, no one seems to be dealing with power outages.
The National Weather Service did warn of winds reaching 20 to 30 miles per hour, with wind gusts clocking in at 40 to 50 miles per hour.
