Jacksonville, Fl — It’s going to be a mild and humid end to the work week with afternoon temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says scattered showers and a thunderstorm will develop by the afternoon. A little more than 50% of the area will see rain today.

The weekend will feature bands of heavy rain.

“Plenty of rain expected to be on and off. There will be some periods where it’s not raining but the later we get into Saturday right on through Saturday night and Sunday, on and off heavy rain and storms”, said Buresh.

Valentine’s Day and the Daytona 500 on Sunday could be very wet. And Buresh says it stays wet into next week, with the potential of isolated severe storms at times.
