Judges on Canada’s tax court face a backlog of over a thousand cases as the court re-opens for hearings Monday with locations in fewer cities because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Tax Court of Canada, which is the first tribunal for challenges to the Canada Revenue Agency’s assessment of an individual or corporation’s tax bill, expects to be increasingly busy over the next several months as it begins holding hearings again after a months-long shutdown.
