The next-generation Chevy Equinox is set to arrive for the 2025 model year, as GM Authority was the first to report. Now, we once again have exclusive coverage of the upcoming fourth-generation model, with news that production of the all-new Equinox will start prior to the end of production for the current third-gen model.

The upcoming all-new 2025 Chevy Equinox will be produced at three separate facilities, including the Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico, the San Luis Potosà plant (also in Mexico), and the CAMI Assembly plant in Ingersoll, Canada.
According to sources, production of the next-gen Chevy Equinox will commence in a staggered cadence, first ramping up at Ramos Arizpe facility in May of 2024, followed by the San Luis Potosà facility in November of 2024. Finally, the next-gen Equinox will start production at the Ingersoll plant in February of 2025.
Essentially, this means there will be an overlap of about nine months where both the next-gen Equinox and the current generation will be produced at different facilities. As such, both generations could be sold at the same time for the first year of production for the next-gen model.

As we’ve covered previously, the all-new 2025 Chevy Equinox will ride on the VSS-F vehicle set, rather than the GM D2 platform underpinning the current generation.
The current third-gen model was originally slated for a refresh for the 2021 model year, but that refresh was delayed to the 2022 model year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The refresh is slated to introduce a variety of styling revisions, including new headlamps and tail lamps, new fascia treatments, and new fog lamps. As GM Authority was the first to report, the 2021 Chevy Equinox drops the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LTG engine option, which designates the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LYX as the only available engine for the compact crossover for the time being.
