The high school summer sports season is just two days away from its highly anticipated start. Teams across the state have spent the last two weeks preparing for a shortened season, and they’ll soon get their chance to play games. The PCM softball team will have a lot of games to play in a short amount of time, and Head Coach Shaun Hudnut says that was intentional.
“Things are still up in the air, we don’t know how much of it we’re actually going to get, depending on what happens. So we just figured we’d play as much as we could. There’s 23 playing dates available, not counting the Saturdays. We had two of them we couldn’t touch because of prom makeup, and then we had one day before regionals that we wanted to make sure we had a full team practice. So we scheduled 20 out of the 23 dates.”
The Mustangs will play no fewer than four games in any given week this season. It starts next week with five games in four days. PCM opens up on Monday at home against South Hamilton.
