Apple baru saja meluncurkan iPhone murah seharga Rp6 jutaan. Langkah itu mendorong perusahaan asal Amerika Serikat (AS) itu untuk menghentikan produksi iPhone model lama, iPhone 8.

Mengapa? Sebab, iPhone murah alias iPhone SE 2 memiliki desain serupa iPhone 8, tetapi perangkat lunaknya telah ditingkatkan.

"Apple menghentikan pembuatan iPhone 8, sehingga pengguna bisa beralih ke iPhone baru dengan prosesor lebih mumpuni," lapor Ubergizmo, dilansir Jumat (17/4/2020).

Dari segi dapur pacu, iPhone murah didukung oleh Bionic A13, sama seperti seri iPhone 11 sehingga ada sejumlah fitur baru dalam perangkat dengan harga kompetitif tersebut.

Berdasarkan laporan The Verge, iPhone SE 2 dijual dengan harga termurah US$399 (sekitar Rp6,2 juta). Perangkat itu memiliki kapasitas penyimpanan 64GB.
