Here's our latest weather outlook for India

5-Day Nationwide Weather Forecast

While one fresh western disturbance (WD) has been affecting Western Himalayan Region (WHR), another fresh one is set to arrive by Tuesday night. Under the influence of the two WDs, fairly widespread rain/snow, with isolated thunderstorms, lightning and hail is forecast across WHR this week. Isolated drizzle is also possible in the plains over the next two day, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

A risk of heavy snow at high altitudes and rain with thunderstorms at low altitudes prevails on Thursday and Friday over Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand due to slightly active convection. The IMD has placed the entire region under an orange alert to 'be prepared' from Wednesday to Friday. Heavy snow is possible over Jammu & Kashmir from Thursday morning to Friday afternoon.

Rain or sleet over Arunachal Pradesh will prevail due to local cyclonic circulation. Rains may continue across northeast India this week. Assam, Manipur, Arunachal, Tripura, Mizoram and Nagaland will witness isolated to widespread rainfall till Thursday.
