Heavy to moderate rain expected to impact Long Island Wednesday into Thursday
Heavy rain is headed to Long Island Wednesday.
News 12 meteorologists say Wednesday will see mostly dry conditions, with possible drizzle developing late in the morning and perhaps a spot shower.
Rainy conditions are expected to develop early Wednesday evening with heavy to moderate precipitation arriving around 4 p.m. Pockets of heavier rain could remain through the overnight hours.
Temperatures will be warm again during the day Wednesday, ranging from the mid- to upper-60s. Overnight lows will be in the mid-50s.
The area could see moderate to heavy rain during the Thursday morning rush hour, with a potential for 1-2 inches of rain.
Showers are expected to taper off in the afternoon and conditions will be a bit cooler, with highs near 60.
It will be partly cloudy Thursday night, but still with the chance of a shower. Lows will dip into the mid-40s.
Friday may bring the chance of a brief shower in the morning, but it will be breezy with a mix of sun and clouds for much of the day. Highs will reach near 58, with lows near 42.
