Heavy police presence in downtown: some protesters block Clinton Street; police demand people to leave - Fort Wayne's NBC

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - Police said some protesters blocked off Clinton Street with several objects. Police shortly arrived demanding people to leave the area.

People protested in front of the Allen County Courthouse on Sunday for the 17th day.

Fort Wayne's NBC's crew was covering the protest. Our crew saw a few protesters moving branches, cones and a fence to block off different parts of Clinton Street in Fort Wayne around 6:30 p.m.

Our crew shortly saw officers arrive on scene. Several officers moved the branches and cones off the road.

An armored police vehicle arrived and drove through a metal fence that was blocking off Clinton Street.

Fort Wayne's NBC News saw heavy police presence in the area.

Officers warned people to leave the area or they would be arrested.

Officers fired a smoke device in the area.

Fort Wayne's NBC News talked with a woman who was involved with the protest in front of the Allen County Courthouse before the events above happened. She said the individuals responsible for the actions above are not part of the "Change Makers" group.

Fort Wayne's NBC News saw officers blocking off different roads including the intersection of Clinton Street and State Boulevard.
